Going Green - Leds & Recycling
We're excited to take another step in our sustainability journey by upgrading all our clubhouse lighting to energy-efficient LEDs! By replacing outdated 80-watt fluorescent tubes with 12-watt LEDs and swapping 60-watt bulbs for just 6-watt alternatives, we're cutting our electricity use by up to 85% per fixture. This means lower energy costs, a reduced carbon footprint and even greater reliance on our solar panels and battery storage. With thanks to Buchan Development Partnership and Shell Small Grants for help in funding this project.
But that's not all, one of our Monday Youth Club members has also designed new posters to promote proper recycling, helping to keep more recyclable waste out of landfill.
